This bridges is part of the Lincoln Highway and State Route 462spans over the Susquehanna River, between Lancaster County, PA (Columbia), York County, PA (Wrightsville). Itwas built in 1929 - 1930 and is known as an Arch bridge structure with multiple spans. It functions as a road bridge.

The designer is James B. Long and the prime contractor was the Wiley-Maxon Construction Company
The arches are made of reinforced concrete with a total total length of > 2 000 m, the span lengths are 28 x 56.43 m

This bridge is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, There are two other bridges whose foundations remain from previous times, one of which blew over, and another was burned by Union Troops who were fleeing the Confederate Army.
